I enjoyed the book and hope more people read and enjoy. Paperback Verified download. Simply put, this is the graphic rendition of the stories Max Brooks put in the back of his Zombie Survival Guide. The artwork is good and the stories were entertaining when I first read them a few years back.

It had been a while so it was nice to revisit these very brief tales but the negative is that Brooks didn't try to add any new stories to the mix and give us something different than we have already seen.

It was entertaining, but not sure it was worth the price charged.

Rub Entertainment Presents: Surviving The Zombie Apocalypse With Max Brooks

You can get fresh new zombie stuff in graphic novel form on an ongoing basis with the Walking Dead series, amongst others, so why couldn't Brooks done a bit of refreshing here and added a few other interesting tales throughout history?

Still, the quality of the art work is good and if you have not read the recorded attacks from the Survival Guide already, this is a good way to introduce them to you if you are a fan of zombies.

Diverting, but not worth the money. Basically you are paying a graphic novel price for the equivalent of a single comic book.

On the first Powell expedition through the Grand Canyon in , an incident occurred when the exploring party separated after a series of hardships and dangers. Some weeks into their voyage into "the great unknown" as Powell put it, the members of his expedition grew desperate when the dangers mounted and food supplies ran desperately low.

Running harrowing Rapids and falls on frail wooden boats, numerous portages, and constantly being enclosed by sheer narrow stone walls and no end in sight, three of Powell's party announced on August 28 that they had enough of this dangerous voyage and planned to attempt to hike out on foot.

In Powell's words: After supper, Captain Howland asks to talk with me. He, his brother, and William Dunn have determined to go no farther Some tears are shed: The three men hike up what is now known as Seperation Canyon while Powell and the rest of his party continue down the canyon in their boats.

When Powell inquired of their fate, he heard that the three were killed by Indians as they emerged from the canyons in a mistaken identity situation. Powell, in a subsequent trip, went to these Indians to learn more about what happened and met those who killed Dunn and the two Howland brothers. The Indians were apologetic and Powell accepted the news with grace and understanding.
